Kuwait Fire Tragedy
The world is grieving the demise of victims who lost their lives in a fire incident that happened in Kuwait. Most of the deceased are Indians who perished in the Kuwait fire tragedy. The reports state that the incident occurred after a fire broke out in a building housing workers in Mangaf City, Kuwait. The report further added that at least 40 Indians have perished and 50 are brutally injured. The incident in Kuwait Fire is officially shared by the Ministry of External Affairs who confirmed the number of deaths. All the injured victims are currently admitted to the hospital where they are getting medical treatment.
As of now, 49 people are reported dead in the Kuwait fire tragedy. According to the reports, the fire incident began at 06:00 AM local time (09:AM IST). As soon as the news surfaced online, people looked for more details of the incident. The images and videos of the fire incident that took place in the Kuwait Building have been posted online showing the intense fire and numerous fire vehicles reaching the scene to take the situation in hand. During the investigation of the incident, the reports disclosed that the fire began in a kitchen in the 6-storey building.
In this building, more than 195 people were residing. All these workers were working in the same company. Most of the deaths were registered due to smoke inhalation as during the incident the residents were sleeping. The incident caught the attention of the Prime Minister who held a high-level review meeting in which PM Modi decided to give compensation to the families who lost their loved ones in this incident. The review meeting was held at the residence of PM Modi where he announced compensation of ₹2 lakh and extended condolences to the families of those who are grieving the demise of their loved ones. He even prayed for the speedy recovery of injured victims.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Minister of State Shri Kirti Vardhan Singh is leaving right away for Kuwait “to work towards early repatriation of mortal remains as well as for medical assistance to those injured” at the PM’s request. The injured people are admitted to different government hospitals Mubarak AI Kabeer, Adan, Jaber, Farwaniya, and Jahra- in Kuwait. The conditions of admitted patients are currently stable as per hospital authorities said by The Ministry of External Affairs.
S.Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs is constantly in contact with his Kuwaiti counterpart Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya. He is getting all the updates on the efforts made by authorities who are presented there. Jaishankar has made a tweet regarding the same and said, “Was assured that the incident would be fully investigated and that responsibility will be fixed.” He even requested to send the bodies of the deceased to their home as soon as possible.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, family members can contact the Indian embassy in Kuwait by calling or messaging +965-65505246, which is available via ordinary phone calls and WhatsApp. The embassy is also in contact with the local authorities. Police are looking into the matter and lodged an FIR against the owner of the building and the janitor.
