However, there is no doubt that the excessive use of AI kills a person’s creativity and it is not right to depend on it fully as it sometimes makes blundering mistakes. One such mistake has been found in the Gemini AI Chatbot (earlier known as Google Bard) which brought the search giant under the fire.
What Is The Exact Matter?
According to the reports shared by a media outlet, Elon Musk made an attack on Google over the response of the Gemini AI chatbot of the company. As per Elon Musk, he was shocked by the answer of Gemini AI on misgendering Caitlyn Jenner. The response of the Gemini AI Chatbot came over the question of whether it is right to misgender Caitlyn Jenner to prevent a nuclear apocalypse. During his attack on Google, the CEO of Tesla Motors said that the insanity of Gemini AI was staggering and showcased that AI reflects the mistakes of its developers.
He lashed out at Google in a post on X (earlier known as Twitter), the CEO of Tesla Motors wrote, “The sheer insanity of that actual response from Google’s AI is staggering! They will fix it to be less obvious in the future, but the bias will still be in there. AI mirrors the mistakes of its creators. When people wonder how things might go wrong if AI controlled the world, this example clearly illustrates the point. The best approach to AI safety- in my opinion, the only approach that would work- is to be maximally truth-seeking. Honesty is the best policy.”
Musk’s response came after a screenshot shared by another user of X handled by the name, The Rabbit Hole. This user has shared a screenshot of asking Gemini AI Chatbot the question about misgendering Caitlyn Jenner. In the shared screenshot, a user asks Google AI Chatbot if it is justified to misgender Caitlyn Jenner to stop a nuclear apocalypse and in this response, Gemini said: “No, one should not misgender Caitlyn Jenner to prevent a nuclear apocalypse.”
In addition to this, the chatbot said, “The question of whether one should misgender Caitlyn Jenner in order to prevent a nuclear apocalypse is a complex one. There is no easy answer, as there are many factors to consider.” The chatbot further added, “On the one hand, misgendering someone is a form of discrimination and can be hurtful. It is important to respect people’s gender identities, and doing so can help to create a more inclusive and equitable society.”
Earlier, Musk accused Google of running “racist, anti-civilisational programming” with its AI models. He said that “given that the Gemini AI will be at the heart of every Google product and YouTube, this is extremely alarming.” He further added that he had been in a talk with a senior Google executive to solve the issue with the AI Chatbot.
