The conflict between Israel and Hamas is getting serious day by day. Thousands of people have died to date and the toll of the deceased is constantly increasing. After monitoring the serious situation in Israel, India is worried for its citizens and by keeping safety in mind, India decided to bring them back. In this regard “Operation Ajay” has been launched. This news has been officially confirmed by several authentic media outlets. According to the reports, on Wednesday, 11th October, India announced the launching of “Operation Ajay” to safely bring Indian citizens from Israel. Ajay means unconquered and this is the reason for naming this operation by this name. Speaking about it, this operation will facilitate the return of those Indians who want to return.

Noted that, over the weekend, Israeli towns faced a series of brazen attacks by Hamas militants which triggered the serious tension between Israel and Palestine. The reports mentioned that around 18,000 Indians are residing in Israel. The Middle Eastern country has already mounted a huge military offensive to retaliate the attacks. This news has been shared by External Affairs S Jaishankar who made a post on Twitter while sharing the news. At present, Jaishankar is on a visit to Sri Lanka. On Twitter, he shared that India has launched “Operation Ajay”. This Tweet was made on Wednesday night. As mentioned in the post of Foreign Minister, “Launching #OperationAjay to facilitate the return from Israel of our citizens who wish to return.”

The post further reads “Special charter flights and other necessary arrangements have been made to bring citizens safely. We are strongly committed to the safety and well-being of our citizens. Their safety is our primary priority.” Another post from the Indian embassy mentioned that the first lot of Indians who applied to come back have been informed and the first batch will be put on the first special flight. That means that the first batch of Indians is expected to come back today from Israel. They will be brought back on a special flight on Thursday, 12th October 2023. After the announcement of Jaishankar, the Indian embassy in Israel posted that it had e-mailed the first lot of citizens of India.

The post further reads, “Messages to other registered people will follow for subsequent flights”.

Israel has formed an emergency government to conduct the battle against Hamas, 5 days after the fighters of the group assassinated or slaughtered civilians on streets and in their homes in an unprecedented assault on Israel. Over the last 5 days, thousands of people have died in a deadly war. The attack was started by Hamas on Saturday and in retaliation, Israel conducted a huge bombardment on the militants of Hamas. The reports state that around 2,150 people have lost their lives. The authorities of Israel state that more than 1,200 people including 155 soldiers have perished in Israel, whereas Palestine stated that 950 people lost their lives in Gaza.

On Wednesday, the report stated that 14 Americans also became the prey of the Israel-Hamas war. This triggered India for the safety of their citizens in a foreign country and the nation launched an operation to bring them safely. Yesterday, the Indian Foreign Minister discussed the ongoing “crisis” in West Asia with his counterpart from the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Jaishankar posted on X, “Spoke to Foreign Minister AB Zayed of UAE this evening. Talked about the ongoing serious situation in West Asia. Decided to remain in talk.”

Speaking about the current situation in Israel, 150 hostages were taken to Palestine. Among these 150 hostages were 14 Thais, 2 Mexicans, and an unidentified number of Germans and Americans.
