The ODI World Cup 2023 ended with the victory of the Australian cricket team on Sunday, 19th November 2023. The entire nation has been in deep sorrow ever since India lost the match. Apart from the loss of the World Cup trophy, the other news related to the sports field is more depressing as some unknown sources are claiming that this WC was the final ODI of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
However, no official words are out related to this news, so we are assuming it is a rumor. Speaking about the winning Australia, the team has won the ODI tournament for a record-extending 6th time at Narendra Modi Stadium. The team had scored 241 runs and all the credit goes to their wonderful bowling. The team reached their target in 43 overs to break the 10-match winning chain of India at the ODI World Cup 2023. Apart from getting the trophy the winner also gets a huge prize money as a winning reward. The winner of the tournament will claim a substantial prize of approximately Rs 33 crore whereas the runners-up will receive approximately Rs 16 crore.
The final match of the ODI between India and Australia marked the 20-year reunion. Before this match, both the teams met in Johannesburg. The defeats of India in ODI over the last 10 years include the defeat in 2014 World T20 Final, the World T20 semi final in 2016, Champions Trophy final in 2017, ODI World Cup semifinal in 2019, the T20 World Cup semifinal in 2023 and now the World Test Championship. Many memes related to the match are circulating and some of them point out the withdrawal of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli from the ODI tournament.
However, no authenticity of this viral news has appeared at the forefront. Although the contract of Rahul Dravid as India’s head coach has officially ended. It is yet not known whether his contract will be renewed. As of now, we only know that it has officially ended on Sunday, 19th November 2023. There has been no discussion in the BCCI about the future course of action, yet. The only happy news we have received so far is the return of Rishabh Pant. The reports of his return are already confirmed and people are hoping that his return will help the team to get back on track.

Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal also made a tweet regarding it in which he stated that India could not win the cricket World Cup trophy, but the journey of the team in the tournament was “nothing short of exceptional”.
